| Qualification | - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Post Graduation in Marine Structures or Coastal Engineering or Ocean Engineering or equivalent.
- Full-time bachelor’s degree in civil engineering AND Post graduation in Marine Structures or Coastal Engineering or Ocean Engineering or equivalent.
- UR/EWS candidates and SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD candidates applying against unreserved posts should have first class degree or minimum 60% marks in the minimum qualification. Reserved category candidates should have at least 50% marks in the minimum qualification for reserved posts. Degree must be recognized by AICTE or equivalent as specified in the notification.

- SC/ST candidates get 5 years age relaxation.
- OBC-NCL candidates get 3 years age relaxation.
- J&K Domicile candidates get 5 years age relaxation.
- PwBD candidates get 10 years age relaxation in addition to applicable category relaxation, subject to suitability of the post.
- RITES regular/contract employees fulfilling educational qualification and experience criteria get 5 years age relaxation over the upper age limit.

| Reservation Details | - Vacancy breakup: UR 01, EWS 0, OBC(NCL) 0, SC 0, ST 0.
- Reservation, relaxation and concessions to EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD/Ex-SM/J&K Domicile are applicable as per Government orders.
- The post is identified suitable for certain PwBD categories in Civil discipline, including Locomotor disability and Hearing Impairment categories as specified.

| Experience | - Minimum 11 years of post-qualification experience is required.
- Out of the total experience, at least 5 years should be in design and construction of marine structures such as breakwater, revetment/shore protection works, dredging and reclamation, berths, jetties, piling, etc.
- Candidates from Central/State Government/PSU/Autonomous Organizations should have worked for at least 2 years in IDA pay scale Rs. 60,000-1,80,000 or CDA pay scale Level 11 of 7th CPC.
- Candidates from State PSUs/Autonomous Organizations/PSBs/Public Sector Insurance Companies/Other Statutory Bodies not following IDA/CDA scale should have worked for at least 2 years in equivalent pay scale.
- Candidates from private sector or other organizations should have an annual CTC of at least 24.10 LPA on the last date of application.
- Training except on-the-job training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship and PhD research experience will not be counted.
- Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 in the relevant discipline/area will be considered for minimum post-qualification experience, subject to other eligibility criteria.
